Crushing oversize slag to liberate metallics at a site of Arcelor Mittal in Ostrava, Czech Republic

Before the trial the oversize material (8 inch +) and the non-magnetic slag (0 – 8 inch) after the drum magnet of the existing MRP was disposed on a landfill at site.
The disposed and apparently worthless material from the existing MRP was then fed to our crusher with a close side setting of 2 inch. This crushed material was sorted out with a magnet belt to get high grade scrap with 90% Fe content.
After running the remaining not magnetic fraction over a 4 inch scalper ( >4 inch material sent back to the crusher) the material was screened with a two deck screen and two belt magnets to get low grade scrap (1/2 to 2 inch and 2 – 4 inch scrap)
Out of 60.000 t of disposed material we gained:
4.8000 t of high-grade scrap with a Fe content of 90% Fe content and
3.6000 t of low-grade scrap of 65 % Fe content
